At Westman New World Shotokan we understand that there are many interpretations of the Shotokan katas. As a dojo, we always refer back to the Best Karate series by Masatoshi Nakayama as the final word on our techniques. The katas displayed below are demonstrated with this in mind.

It should also be noted that working on kata is a never ending learning process, meaning that, as a karateka advances and revisits katas already learned, there may be adjustments made in every kata for the length of a lifetime while striving to reach that ever elusive state of perfection.
